Backstamp: Crescent GJ & Sons George Jones & Sons Made in England. Full text on the front is King William IV's Coach was used by Queen Adelaide an Aunt of Queen Victoria and later as the State Coach of the Judges of Assize at Carlisle 75 years ago.

A wonderful large dish with wavy rim to the base and gently moulded detail to the cover.

A lovely cheese dish. The base has pretty indented corners and the cover has a gently flared rim. There is a tiny tiny stain just off centre and a little light crazing, these really are minor, the surface shows barely a scratch. The cover also has a little light crazing with a tiny tiny under rim chip not noticeable when cover in situ'. A little discolouraton to the spur of the handle and some to the inside rim otherwise fine. As usual our policy of mentioning absolutely everything about a piece makes this sound much worse than it looks! It is a lovely cheese dish - more squat and wider than the Carlisle shape.

Candlesticks Pair c1915
A candlestick in George Jone's Abbey is rarely found these days. An original pair, that started out life together, in good condition is much rarer!
These sticks have good clear prints in dark blue, with only the occasional smudge or hazy bit. They have a lovely clear glaze, almost pearly. The inner rims of the sconces are decorated with the border design. Inside one of the sconces is a minor stress crack, which occurred during firing. There are a few lines of craze to the glaze. Otherwise these sticks are like new.
Both have the earlier blue printed backstamp Abbey 1790 within a cartouche.

From the outside this looks to be in superb condition, however inside to the base there are a couple of hairlines and underneath a star hairline, making this a piece for display only.
