It is printed in a vibrant blue with the clever use of dark and light tones to give a great sense of perspective.

Small chinoiserie vignettes surround a central floral pattern in hues of teracotta. The drainer stands on four small feet.
No backstamp, but pattern number in ochre script 6 over 29 and Ridgway was one of the few factories to get to a 6 series of patterns.
Crazed with some discolouration which is minor on the front and heavier on the back. There is a little damage around some of the holes and a couple of very small minor chips to the rim. Overall a lovely drainer.

Square with a wavy rim and extremely pretty moulded side handles in the shape of flowers and leaves. The stilt marks have discoloured a little and one of the side handles has a couple of firing faults making the flower slightly less defined. On the back there is a chip under one of the handles and general wear around the rim and the foot. As usual sounds much worse than it looks. This is a really lovely piece.
