Meat Dish or Platter with tree and well c1800
One of the most loved and early of Spodes Chinoiserie patterns and here on a fabulous meat dish with tree and well feature. Forest Landscape was engraved in two versions and this number 1. No backstamp. Light all over crazing with just a hint of discolouration on the back and a small rub under the rim. Overall magnificent.

Meat Dish or Platter c1825
This platter is decorated with Forest Landscape II, one of Spode's loveliest Chinoiserie designs. Backstamp is impressed Spode with serif and 14 beneath, in use 1815 to 1833. Some signs of use, a minor "ding" at 11 o'clock on the rim, but overall a lovely display piece in good condition.

Fabulous shape of dish which would originally have had a lid, but is a lovely piece on its own. It would have part of a supper set. Extremely finely potted. No backstamp. Light crazing with the occasional minor blemish overall excellent condition.

Pretty Devonia shape dessert dish. No backstamp, but we have attributed this to Spode. On the outside there is a small chip to the rim and two small unglazed areas which have discoloured just a little. There are a couple of tiny manufacturing faults to the inside rim and a few minor signs of wear, overall in very good condition with glaze bright and sound.

Sometimes known as Forest Landscape version II, this pattern was introduced by Spode about 1805. Beautiful pearly glaze and well printed. Few signs of use and one plate has a tiny under rim chip, fine to the face, otherwise excellent condition. No maker's backstamp.

Sometimes known as Forest Landscape version II, this pattern was introduced by Spode about 1805. Beautiful clear white glaze and well printed. Few signs of use and the glaze is crazed on one plate with light staining, otherwise excellent condition. No maker's backstamp.

This is the later version II of this design produced by Spode. This plate is unmarked, but attributed to Spode. The rim has three chips, which are there, but not especially dis-figuring. Few lines of crazing in the glaze, but overall really bright and clean. No maker's backstamp. Provenance: The personal collection of Gresham Copeland, passing by descent to his son Robert Copeland. Collection identification label on back AGC D.37.

Knife Rest c1820
Lovely knife rest decorated with the border of this pretty chinoiserie pattern. The same border was used for Rock pattern, so this knife rest is interchangeable. Backstamp: Spode There are one or two nibbles underneath to the rim and a tiny loss of glaze on the top, but this is in really excellent condition for a knife rest.

Blue printed backstamp seal mark with Spode and Stone China and virtually obliterated pattern number 3248 in script. A little wear here and there and a chip behind the rim at 2 o'clock, which just shows through, with a hairline running down from it for 3.75 ins, also a short firing crack on back, which does not show through. Otherwise in excellent condition. Pieces in this Spode pattern are rare and the association with the most ostentatious Coronation Banquet of all time has established for the few survivors a unique position in both regal and ceramic history. We are not claiming that the Earl of Denbeigh personally served George IV from this dish, but who knows?

Stunning and massive are two words that spring to mind to describe this huge tree and well meat dish or platter of Spode Stone China in Frog design, here in variant pattern number 3248. Blue printed pattern and hand enamelled in deep reds and blues, with copious gilt decoration and terracotta rim. This pattern was specially commissioned from Spode by King George IV and was first used at his Coronation Banquet on 19 July 1821. Backstamp: Copeland late Spode, which suggests that this was made as a matching piece for an earlier service, plus pattern number 3248 in red script. A few signs of wear, but in superb condition.

Bone china with ochre rim. This pattern was specially commisioned from Spode by King George IV and was first used at his Coronation Banquet on 19 July 1821. An absolutely gorgeous small tureen printed in a rich cobalt blue and terracotta with gilt highlights and fabulous gilt butterfly side handles and central finial to the cover. Backstamp: Spode and in script 3248. The stand has a little minor wear to the ochre rim otherwise excellent condition. The cover has two chips to the rim and a little minor wear to the ochre. As the cover sits in a recess the chips are not evident when it is in situ'. The tureen has a repair to the rim by one of the side handles otherwise is in superb condition.

This is a late Spode design introduced about 1826 and the name of the pattern refers to the border. Variants are found printed in brown, pattern B139 and later in green, pattern B184. The pattern name was used later to refer to a different design, then on 14 December 1892 the original Fruit and Flowers pattern was registered with number 204192 under the pattern name May and produced with different centres. Here on this lovely plate the pattern is in a beautiful flow blue. Backstamp: Green printed Copeland and impressed Copeland and Garrett New Blanche. There is a small glazing blemish to the left side of the face and a little wear to the outer rim otherwise excellent condition. A very pretty plate.
