Bowl oval c1924
A lovely shallow oval bowl with white gadrooned rim. There was only limited production of Italian with the white gadroon rim. Spode tried this style in an endeavour to stimulate sales of Italian in Germany, where Tower with its white gadroon rim had always sold well.

Vegetable Dish c1820
This is a large and rare item, being the liner divided in four sections from a large three part covered vegetable dish. Hot water in the base of the dish beneath this liner would have kept the contents warm. This dish is decorated to the face only and the outside is plain white glazed.
There are some signs of use, including glaze blemishes, small areas of minor staining and rubbing to the rim, but overall it is in excellent condition, especially taking into account its age and purpose in life.
Impressed Spode with 9 beneath and blue printed Spode.
A similar more rectangular dish is illustrated in Spode Transfer Printed Ware by Drakard and Holdway on page 262, but this one is more a rounded oval.

Bowl with Foot c1930
These attractive footed bowls were made in the sizes and this is one of the largest! It makes a lovely eye-catching centrepiece and is decorated both inside, as well as outside.
Here Spode's Italian is printed on a bowl made of Copeland Spodes Imperial body and decorated with gadrooning to rim and foot, both a body and decoration more often associated with Tower pattern.
There are two smallish chips to the rim, with a short hairline running down from one. If preferred, they could be easily restored. A little crazing to the glaze, but otherwise excellent condition.

Comport c1920s
This is a most unusual little piece. Possibly a little sweetmeat or bon bon dish. It has light crazing and there is a small hairline to the foot, noticeable really only from underneath. Otherwise it is in superb condition with barely a scratch to the surface. Blue printed oval mark.

Comport with cover c1920s
This is a wonderful piece! A round footed comport with a cover. The comport has two side handles and is beautifully decorated both inside and out. The domed cover has a central loop handle and lovely embossed acorn and oak leaf where it joins the cover. The cover is a slightly paler blue than the base. Both pieces in superb condition.

Basket c1920s
This is a gorgous basket, round with pierced body and two side handles. It is superbly decorated both inside and out. Now for the bad news! There is a small hairline to the rim next to one of the handle joins, a chip and small hairline to the rim and a repair to the rim where a piece of approximately 3" x 1" broke off and has been restuck and inside there is a small glazing blemish. The piercing and the handles have absolutely no damage and overall this is still a fine piece. Blue printed oval backstamp.

An absolutely gorgeous piece. Border pattern around the foot and the outside and full pattern surrounded by border pattern to the top. Basket c1920s
This is a delightful shape with pierced side handles. The inside of the bowl is ribbed giving rise to a decorative finish to the rim. Light all over crazing and a small stain, with just a very small minor rub to the rim. Blue printed oval mark, impressed crown and impressed with date for January 192? (last digit difficult to decipher)

Grape Dish c1910
A rare grape dish or small comport. Moulded into the body of the dish is a vine leaf and the dish has a serrated rim mimicking a vine leaf. By Spode standards it is a slightly "rustic" piece, quite heavy in its moulding and some surplus blue here and there. It must have been difficult to transfer, with all its moulding and shapes.
Backstamps: impressed Copeland and blue printed oval Copeland Spode's Italian England.
The glaze is finely crazed and there is a small area of restoration at 5 o'clock, otherwise excellent condition.

Grape Basket c1910
A beautiful pierced and decorated basket designed to hold grapes. The roundels in the piercing are set amidst scrolls and have moulded decoration of vine leaves and grapes. The grip handles at each end are decorated in similar fashion, with the vine picked out in dark cobalt blue. By contrast the pattern is printed in a soft paler blue than is typical for Italian. This is an extremely rare piece in Italian.

The glaze is finely crazed, but this basket is in immaculate condition.
