Lily Pan large c1902
This is huge and absolutely stunning! It was originally produced by Copeland Spode as a Lily Pan, although today we would be more likely to describe it as a jardiniere or cache pot. These Lily Pans were more often produced in Tower pattern and in Italian are decidedly rare. It is extremely large, circular and slightly bulbous with decorative raised greek key pattern around the top, inset with four Dogs of Fo fixed ring detail.
Backstamp: Impressed Copeland and date for September 1902.
Inside to the base there is surface scratching with some discolouration, the exterior however shines like new. There is the occasional minor printing blemish and around the top rim a little wear, overall excellent condition.
