Jasmine was first introduced in about 1825 and this piece is an absolute delight. A round footed base beautifully decorated both inside and out with a round decorated cover. The base has light crazing with some light surface scratching inside and the inner and gadrooned rim shows some signs of wear. Underneath the foot has a small chip and some discolouration but this only noticeable when turned upside down! The lovely domed coverhas just a touch of wear to the loop handle otherwise in excellent condition.

This is a stunning piece, beautifully decorated all over and with embossed and pierced side handles.

This does have a little damage. There is a hairline to one handle and an under rim chip (which just peeks through to the top) and horizontal hairline to the rim and a small rub to the rim which has resulted in some loss of glaze and pattern. Also in the bowl is a small manufacturing blemish. Sounds much worse than it looks and is a stunning centrepiece.

A particularly striking tureen with stand and cover, decorated in the Aesthetic style.
The rectangular stand has some light crazing and a small under rim chip to one corner which just peeps through. The tureen has crazing to the glaze and has a hairline around one corner with some staining inside. The handle on the cover and gadrooned rim on all pieces have some signs of wear. Not as bad as it sounds, looks fine on display and an outstanding set and a wonderful centre piece.

Dinner Plate c1877
Landscape is probably the most delicate and subtle of all the Spode Chinoiserie designs. This plate looks to be so early, but has an October 1877 impressed date code on the back, but surprisingly no other backstamp, although it is clearly and totally Spode.
It is stone china. There are some utensil marks, but the glaze is sound and overall it is a really lovely plate.

This pattern also known as Long Elisa or Jumping Boy. A fabulous two piece set being the central part of a large supper set. The three sectioned dish which has pattern on the underside also, sits in the larger rimmed dish.

The rimmed base dish has light crazing with a little very minor discolouration and a small chip to the inside rim. The sectioned dish has a little very minor wear to the rim otherwise excellent condition.

Basket with Stand c1810
This is a very pretty pierced basket and stand, which are smaller than Spode's other baskets and stands.
The stand is in excellent condition. The basket has light crazing to the glaze and a small chip to the outer rim otherwise fine - both pieces shine like new. Blue printed backstamp on basket Spode in a rectangle used between 1805-1815 and rarely seen except on Rome, Buffalo & Filigree.

Lattice Scroll was a fairly early pattern introduced around 1810. Delicate tracery and lyre shapes surround the central floral motif.
Backstamp: Impressed SPODE over 18 and blue printed SPODE.
A little rubbing and wear to the foot rim on the back. Minor light staining around a few of the holes, but very minor. Overall in excellent condition.

Butter Dish c1895
With gilt. The border is part of the Louis Quatorze design and on the side are the arms for Christ's Hospital School. Copeland made tableware for the School from the 1840s through to the 1930s. The border design was registered 2 December 1844 under number 22919 and with a centre under number 22920. It was used with a number of different centres, most notably with the Continental Views Series.
The original use for this small sturdy bowl was as a butter dish, as breakfast at the School was bread and butter! Hence the need for many butter dishes and you can imagine it being filled and scraped flat with a knife across the broad rims. It may also have been used as an open salt, although its shape is not suited to that purpose, as salts usually have a convex rim that projects in, to help retain the salt when it is being spooned. The exact dimensions: diameter overall is 93mm and inner diameter 77mm, so the rim is 8mm. The height is 41mm and weight 220gms.

The gilt is quite worn, there is a little pitting to the rim and underneath a little discolouration.
