Backstamp impressed and printed Spode. An absolutely gorgeous sauce tureen complete with stand and cover all with white gadroon rim. The stand, tureen and cover have lovely ornate moulded flower decoration to the handles. Both stand and tureen have minor light crazing and there are two small minor hairlines (barely visible)to the base of the tureen. The cover has a small "nick" to the ladle opening. All in all a superb piece.

Meat Dish or Platter with tree and well c1830
Spode introduced his British Flowers and Botanical series in 1828. They have similar designs of flowers, but Botanical reverses the typical colouring with basically white flowers on a blue background, giving a softer look. It is one of the most sophisticated and subtle of all the Spode designs.
This platter is in superb condition, with a little wear on the back, a few knife marks on the face, but with no real signs of use during its 170 year life. The face is wonderfully bright and clean.
There is an impressed SPODE with 1 beneath and a blue printed SPODE, plus decorators mark of an A. This platter would have been made between 1828 and 1833.
A rare opportunity to acquire a major piece decorated in a strongly collected Spode design and in near perfect condition.

An absolutely stunning piece with fabulous moulded details to the side handles. Made as a stand for a soup tureen but has it has no indent for the tureen to sit in, is great also as a platter.

There is a little loss of glaze to the stilt marks and some minor wear to the outer rim and moulded detail. There is a small chip on the back of one of the side handles which just shows through, but overall this is excellent condition.

This is an absolutely gorgeous piece. Made originally for a soup tureen to stand on but makes a great serving or display piece on its own.
No backstamp but we have attributed this to Spode

Side or Cheese Plate c1815
The Bridge design was copied from the Chinese and introduced about 1808. This is the slightly later Bridge II version of the design. Much later in 1884 it was re-engraved and called New Bridge or Queen Charlotte pattern.
There are signs of wear to this plate, the glaze is finely crazed and a couple of minor hairlines to the rim. The print is also slightly flown. Overall good condition.
No maker's backstamp, but attributed to Spode.
Provenance: The personal collection of Gresham Copeland, passing by descent to his son Robert Copeland. Collection identification label on back AGC 183 and 15 March 1938.

Egg Tureen c1825
This is a fabulous three part tureen: an oval tureen base, with an insert with four holes for eggs and a fifth central hole for a salt cellar and a cover.
Backstamp: Impressed and blue printed Spode on the tureen and cover and blue printed Spode on the insert.
The tureen has a touch of crazing to the glaze, a little wear and discolouration to the inner and outer rims and side handles. The insert has some minor wear and discolouration underneath but on the top shines like new. The cover is crazed and has a little wear to the handle and under side of the rim. An absolutely wonderful set.
