Maker: Hackwood  Pattern: Exotic Birds

This gorgeous little wavy rim plate, printed in a delicate shade of blue, is almost a miniature. Small rub to the rim, otherwise fine.
There is no maker's backstamp, only a blue printed o. Marked examples are known with Hackwood impressed, usually attributed to William Hackwood of Eastwood, Hanley, active 1827 to 1843.
This pattern is illustrated in Romantic Staffordshire Ceramics by Snyder under the name Ekorie Birds, which appears to be a mis-reading of Exotic Birds.
