Maker: Pountney Pattern: Willow
Made at the famous Bristol Pottery during the Pountney & Allies period 1816 to 1835. Marked examples by this pottery are relatively uncommon and few examples of the traditional Willow pattern are recorded.
Impressed backstamp of Pountney & Allies curved over cross and blue printed cartouche Warranted Ironstone with P & A beneath.
The design has been well engraved and printed, although there is some surplus colour, almost as if it is slightly flown. The glaze is finely crazed, which has taken up a little light staining on the back. On the rim at eleven o'clock there has been a knock taking off a bit of glaze and clay. Overall though, despite the description it is a bright and clean piece.
Dimensions: 26 cm / 10.25 ins
