Maker: Davenport  Pattern: View of the Imperial Park at Gehol

The Emperor of China's pleasure gardens at Gehol were known as the garden of 10,000 trees and lie some 150 miles to the north east of Peking. This scene is taken from an engraving published in 1806 in Travels in China by John Barrow. Davenport's pattern was previously known as Chinese River Scene.
This dish is a good size and decorated inside and out. It is in overall good condition, although the glaze is finely crazed and there is a short hairline in from the rim one end.
Impressed backstamp Davenport.
