This delightful large platter has fine crazing to the glaze, with some light staining here and there, and a few tiny glaze defects. The rim has some rubbing and wear. Looks a lot better than it sounds and is fine on display.
Blue printed backstamp cartouche with Royal Cottage in shield and impressed anchor, which suggests the maker was Fell & Co of St Peter's Pottery, North Shore, Tyneside, although they are not previously recorded making this design.
