Maker: Unattributed Maker  Pattern: Castle

Castle pattern is most often associated with Spode, but it was also made by the Swansea Potteries and Clews. This drainer has no maker's backstamp, but may be by one of the Swansea Potteries, where it was known as Castle Gatehouse or Gateway pattern.
The glaze is finely crazed and there is a little light associated staining in one area, a tiny nick on one hole and another on bottom rim, but all very minor, as overall it is in excellent condition.
On the back there is an impressed 12 and two impressed circles.
