This is a large and wonderful piece! Fabulous street scene complete with Regency strollers, sedan chair and horse and carriage. The buildings look slightly Continental or Eastern and overall the impression is of Bath with Istanbul overtones!
Blue printed backstamp of Stone China on a scroll fringed with foliage.
It has light all over crazing, two small hairlines to the body and inside a chip, which probably started out as a firing fault. There is a small firing crack to the inside rim and some general wear mainly around the top rim and spout of the jug and some light staining inside. Overall it is bright and clean and looks superb on display. A jug as large as this is rarely found today.
