Maker: Unattributed Maker  Pattern: Unidentified Pattern brown

A small Dutch shaped jug printed in brown, with a hint of mulberry if there is such a colour, with an intriguing chinoiserie scene with a temple, exotic plants and three people. Ochre decoration to rim and sides of handle.
In manufacture a piece of grit inside has left an area of thin clay in the side, which just shows through as a minor stress crack. Few nibbles round the end of the spout. The glaze is interesting as it is very pearly and inside where it has run down is luminescent. There are some runs of excess glaze on the outside, which show whitish. Don't be put off; if you like quirky chinoserie then this is for you.
