Maker: Don Pottery  Pattern: Italian and Sicilian Views Series

This is probably the best known pattern from the famous Don Pottery at Swinton,Yorkshire and consists of a series of views of places around Naples and Sicily. Also known as Named Italian Views Series. The scenes were taken from engravings published in Voyage Pittoresque ou Description des Royaumes de Naples et de Sicile by Jean Claude Richard de Saint-Non, published in Paris 1781-86. This plate has some surface scratchng on the back otherwise is in superb condition. No makers marks.
