Maker: Unattributed Maker  Pattern: Italian

These knife rests are large carver's rests and are decorated with the border design from Spode's well known Italian pattern, although these rests are not by Spode, but one of their competitors, who copied the pattern. We have not hazarded a guess as to which one.
No maker's backstamp.
Some wear as is usual and the glaze is crazed on both. The corners on one are rubbed, as is one of the risers. The other rest has rubbed corners and one corner has a small chip. Underneath are four minor chips, which are not seen, when the rest is set down. So overall they look good on display and are a lovely pair of rests.
