Maker: Lakin  Pattern: Classical Ruins

The pattern depicts a goatherd leading his goat past the Pyramid of Caius Cestius, Rome, which is another name for this pattern, as is simply Goatherd.
No backstamp, but we have attributed this to Thomas Lakin of Stoke active 1810 to 1817, as the design detail matches marked examples by Lakin.
The glaze is finely crazed, but this is a bright and clean plate. Lovely example.
