Maker: Ridgway Pattern: Unidentified Pattern plum
Porcelain. An absolutely delightful cup and saucer bat printed in plum and featuring a girl with a bird on her hand on the saucer and on one side of the cup and with a squirrel on a table on the other side. Attributed to Ridgway. A cup of similar shape with high loop handle is illustrated in Plate 713 page 119 of A Compendium of British Cups by Michael Berthoud. No backstamp.
There is a small minor blue smudge on the side of the cup and elsewhere the occasional minor blemish, overall excellent condition.
