Maker: Masons Pattern: Classical Landscape
Wonderful small early platter. The pattern is believed to be derived from the print of the Sepulchre of Rachel in Bowyer's Historic Gallery published in 1812. An unusual feature of this design is that the name of the engravers is worked into one of the classical tablets in the border: Bentley Wear & Bourne.
Backstamp: Mason's Patent Ironstone China and impressed Mason's Patent Ironstone China.
On the back there is some discolouration however the face of the platter is in excellent condition.
