Maker: Ridgway  Pattern: Humphreys Clock

Humphreys Clock is a series of views depicting scenes from Charles Dickens' stories. They are taken from the illustrations in a magazine, in which Dickens' stories were first published. Ridgway & Co introduced a complete range of table and other wares in the 1840s, decorated with these scenes. This is a lovely comport with ornate pierced side handles.

Light all over crazing with a little discolouration although this is mainly to the outer rim and on the back and there is a little loss of glaze and discolouration to the stilt marks inside. Sounds much worse than it looks, this is a delightful piece.
