Maker: Adams Pattern: Chinese Bird
This is a wonderful piece, a straight sided tankard with a fabulous entwined strap handle. Embossed flowers decorate the join of the handle to the tankard, which has a different cartouche either side of the body.
Backstamp: Rd No 623294 This pattern was introduced by William Adams in 1780 being a copy of a Chinese pattern & one of the first of its style produced in English pottery Wm Adams.
Dimensions: 12.5 cm high, 9.5 cm diameter / 5 ins high, 3.75 ins diameter
