Maker: Edge Malkin  Pattern: Asiatic Pheasants

This is a really attractive tureen standing on four small feet, with gently moulded body and two ornate side handles. There is a small brown mark at the base of the tureen which appears to be under the glaze and a very small possibly manufacturing rub to the rim otherwise the tureen and cover are in superb condition. The ladle on the other hand has seen life and may possibly not be the original one. It is crazed, the rim of the bowl shows signs of wear and there are one or two glazing blemishes. It has the border pattern around the outside of the bowl and full pattern and border pattern inside. There is lovely flower detail along the line of the stem and actualy the part which shows when the cover of the tureen in situ looks absolutely fine. All in all a truly lovely set.
