Maker: Jones George  Pattern: Abbey

This is shape AB48 in the George Jones catalogue, where several nappies in sizes are listed and the largest is 13ins diameter. This example at 14.5ins diameter is significantly larger and these bowls are rare in this size. Two are available, which have been in the same house since they were bought about 1910.
The bowls are decorated on the inside only and the quality of the print is excellent, in a good bold blue. The glaze is lightly crazed, but overall the condition of both bowls is outstanding. Early blue printed backstamp c1900 to 1915.
