Maker: Jones George  Pattern: Abbey

These square dishes are found only rarely. In the Jones 1924 catalogue it is item AB5 Fruit Dish Square available in two sizes. This is the smaller one.
A few minor glaze blemishes occurring during manufacture. The glaze is crazed, but bright and the slightly pearly glaze gives added softness to the design.
Blue printed back stamp Abbey 1790 in the cartouche with England beneath. Impressed registerd number for the shape is unclear, possibly 730214 suggesting 1927?
