Maker: Jones George  Pattern: Abbey

This is shape AB48 in the George Jones catalogue, where several nappies in sizes are listed and the largest is 13ins diameter. This example at 14.5ins diameter is significantly larger! Decorated on the inside only, the quality of the print is excellent, in a good bold blue. Blue printed early backstamp Abbey 1790 in the cartouche, impressed crescent mark and impressed date mark for 1915.
A little very light crazing and some minor wear to the rim otherwise excellent.
