Japanese. This is an absolutely fabulous piece with an ochre rim. Not quite as flat as a charger, more a large dish, but shallow enough to hang or have on a shelf. There is a little damage to the foot rim and a few minor nibbles under the rim which have been glazed over. Overall though this is a stunning piece. Impressed marks on the back but they are not legible.
