Maker: Pratt  Pattern: Italian

F and R Pratt of Fenton, Staffordshire produced their Pratts Italian from about 1890 to 1920. It is a 19th Century design and it is assumed that Pratts obtained the printing plates from the original maker.
This is a wonderful piece and beautifully decorated. The sconce is adorned with a lovely floral border both inside and outside, which is repeated on the pretty scroll handle and the base. The main Italian pattern is around the central stem.
Light crazing to the glaze and close inspection reveals the base of the stem has been off and restuck and repaired. Overall though a really lovely piece.
