Maker: Spode Pattern: Spodes Garden
This dish is an absolute delight, with beautiful moulding all the way round, which includes a strawberry on each of the two side handles. It is printed with a design named Spode's Garden, which was acquired by Spode from another pottery and used by Spode over the years printed in various colours and on different shapes. The shape here is Spode's Mason's shape. They registered the pattern under registered number 467171 on 14 October 1905.
The clear white bone china body is in excellent condition, with just a few utensil marks in the base of the dish and a minor firing crack on the outer foot rim. Backstamp printed in green Spode, Copeland's China, England and impressed date mark for September 1911.
Dimensions: 30 x 20 cm overall / 11.75 x 8 ins overall
