Maker: Spode Pattern: D'Oyly Carte colour
Bone china with gilt. A superb plate presented in its original box.
Backstamp: The D'Oyly Carte Plate. Designed with the co-operation of the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company and the approval of Miss Bridget D'Oyly Carte, this plate was inaugurated in 1975, the centenary year, to commemorate the collaboration of William S Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan with Richard D'Oyly Carte. Also listed 13 operas performed between 1875 and 1896. Spode England Bone China.
The satin lining of the box is stained. The plate is in excellent condition.
