Maker: Woods  Pattern: Yuan

An extremely elegant pair of vases. The neck of one vase has a little restoration otherwise both excellent condition. Blue printed backstamp with H M & Co, England, which is believed to have been an independent pottery in Staffordshire. All Yuan vases have this backstamp rather than the more common Woods Yuan cartouche. H M & Co is a backstamp widely recorded on other designs and vases appear to have been a particular speciality. Also blue printed Rd No 656368, which is the registration number for Yuan.
