Maker: Clews Pattern: Castle
James & Ralph Clews worked the Cobridge Works, Staffordshire from 1818 until 1834. Their popular Castle pattern, better known made by Spode, is printed here in a darker blue than the Spode version.
Backstamp: no maker's backstamp.
The glaze is crazed and there is a small glaze blemish in manufacture. The small size makes it most attractive.
