Maker: Clews Pattern: Castle
James & Ralph Clews worked the Cobridge Works, Staffordshire from 1818 until 1834. Their popular Castle pattern, better known made by Spode, is printed here in a darker blue than the Spode version.
Backstamps: no maker's backstamp, only a large impressed 6.
Some untensil marks, but the glaze is sound and this plate is in lovely condition.
