Maker: Hamilton Pattern: Canton River
In 1785 Thomas & William Daniell set off on a voyage to India and China that would last almost 10 years. On their return they published in 1810 their book of narrative and engravings "Picturesque Voyage to India by the way of China". Canton River is a composite view taken from Daniells' book and elsewhere. This lovely dish would have been part of a supper set and would originally have had a cover.
No backstamp.
It is crazed and has a little wear to two corners and an under rim chip to another. Overall a lovely piece.
Dimensions: 31 cm x 14.5 cm / 12.25 ins x 5.75 ins
