Brameld Castle of Rochefort Dinner Plate c1820

Maker: Brameld  Pattern: Castle of Rochefort

Made by Brameld at the Rockingham Works, Swinton, Yorkshire and the full pattern name is Castle of Rochefort South of France. Rochefort is a French seaport on the Bay of Biscay and is perhaps best known as the port from which Napoleon sailed into exile in 1815.
Backstamp: impressed Brameld within oval floral wreath and blue printed rock and flora cartouche Castle of Rochefort, South of France.
The glaze is finely crazed and there is a tiny nick to the rim and on the back a small rim chip. There is a three line star hairline, which is virtually invisible on the front. On display this plate looks virtually perfect.

Dimensions: 25 cm / 9.75 ins
