Maker: Cambrian Pottery Pattern: Monopteros
Made during the Bevington period 1817 to 1824 at the Cambrian Pottery, Swansea, Wales this is their version of a pattern better known by Rogers, although the two versions are quite different. Illustrated are the remains of an ancient building near Foroz Shah's Cotilla near Delhi, which was illustrated in an aquatint in Thomas Daniell's Oriental Scenery.
No maker's backstamp, only 18 impressed twice.
There are a few minor utensil marks, but this platter is in superb condition, almost like new. A beautiful example from Cambrian Pottery.
Dimensions: 48 x 35.5 cm / 19 x 14 ins
