Maker: Cambrian Pottery Pattern: Monopteros
Gorgeous plate with amazing foliage detail to the border. Made during the Bevington period 1817 to 1824 at the Cambrian Pottery, Swansea, Wales this is their version of a pattern better known by Rogers, although the two versions are quite different. Illustrated are the remains of an ancient building near Foroz Shah's Cotilla near Delhi, which was illustrated in an aquatint in Thomas Daniell's Oriental Scenery.
No backstamp, only impressed o.
Light all over crazing with a little surface scratching and the plate has domed slightly in firing. Overall excellent condition.
Dimensions: 25.5 cm / 10 ins
