Maker: Ridgway  Pattern: Humphreys Clock

Humphreys Clock is a series of views depicting scenes from Charles Dickens' stories. They are taken from the illustrations in a magazine, in which Dickens' stories were first published. Ridgway & Co introduced a complete range of table and other wares in the 1840s, decorated with these scenes. This is a charming mug with same Little Nell scene either side of the body.
Backstamp: Humphrey's Clock.
Crazed with a little wear to the rim and a small manufacturing fault to the foot rim.
