Maker: Masons  Pattern: Japan Basket blue with colour

Decorated with one of Mason's brightly coloured Japan designs, blue printed and hand coloured. This large hydra ewer or pitcher, with eight panels has the typical Mason's serpent handle.
In manufacture the handle lifted away from the body as it was fired, but is still firmly attached. There is another stress crack, which occured during manufacture, running down the "join" between two of the panels. This ewer is in excellent condition and the glaze is sound and bright.
