Maker: Spode Pattern: British Flowers
A lovely round pot used for potted meats or pattys. The rim has a ridge, under which was tied the string to hold on the cloth or paper cover. Decorated with one of Spode's georgeous floral designs, British Flowers, on the outside and the narrow border decoration runs round the inner rim.
There is a minor firing crack, where the side meets the base. It runs one inch up the side and 0.75 inch along the base and has taken up a little staining through use. A little crazing to the glaze internally, with a few signs of use, but externally in beautiful condition.
This pot was made during the Copeland and Garrett period 1833 to 1847 and has a blue printed backstamp of a crown over Copleand & Garrett in circular form cotaining the words New Blanche. This mark was in use from 1838 to 1847.
Dimensions: 12.5 cm diameter 7.5 cm high / 5 ins diameter 3 ins high
