Maker: Minton Pattern: Hermit
An early example of a popular chinoiserie design usually associated with Davenport and Minton, although other makers made it. Also known as Chinoserie Bridgeless and Man in Doorway. This platter is a convenient decorative size and in beautiful condition, with some crazing to the glaze on the back and just a few signs to the face, otherwise bright and clean. No makers mark, but the quality of the potting and the glaze makes attribution safe. It is especially lightly potted.
