Maker: Riley Pattern: Eastern Street Scene
Made by John & Richard Riley of Nile Street and Hill Works, Burslem active 1796-1828. This is a given name for this charming scene, which was derived from two aquatints of Indian street scenes in T & W Daniell's Oriental Scenery. The Sacred Tree of the Hindoos at Gyah, Bahar provided the tree on the left and View on the Chitpore Road, Calcutta the buildings on the right. This is a fabulous dish printed in a rich blue.
No backstamp just impressed 18.
Crazed with some surface scratching and minor wear but nothing major. Overall a stunning dish.
Dimensions: 49 cm x 39.5 cm / 19.25 ins x 15.75 ins
