Maker: Ford Pattern: Lonsdale
The successive partnerships of Smith Ford & Jones, Smith & Ford and then Samuel Ford & Co of Lincoln Pottery, Burslem, Staffordshire made Lonsdale. Most items have just Lonsdale or Made in England on the back, but examples with a Samuel Ford backstamp are recorded. Unmarked examples are possibly earlier.
With gilt although only traces remain. Some surface scratching and small glazing fault to rim. Under the rim there are four chips one of which just peeps through. Do not be put off - this is a lovely piece for display!
