Maker: Rogers  Pattern: Views Series

John Rogers and Son of Dale Hall, Longport, Staffordshire active 1815 to 1841. A series of landscape views, of which the location of some have been identified, but this one remains unknown. It is sometimes known as Lakeside View. There is a castle in the background and in the foreground men are fishing from a boat on the lake.
Backstamp: ROGERS impressed and L plus blue printed two.
The glaze is finely crazed, which has taken up some light associated staining, but this is confined almost totally to the back. A couple of minor hairlines in the arcading, but otherwise excellent condition.
