An absolutely wonderful set of six covered custard cups on a round footed stand with indents for the cups to sit in. The stand has a touch of crazing underneath but otherwise is in super condition. The cups vary a little in size and therefore brush against each other when in place. Four of them are crazed and two of those have some minor associated discolouration. Two cups have small rim chips and one has a small chip to the foot. Three of the covers have light crazing and one has a very small chip to the inside rim. Sounds much worse than it looks, overall this is a lovely set.
No maker's backstamp. This design is normally attributed to Benjamin Adams, when the central medallion has a white background. This item is from a service, where only one piece had a backstamp, impressed Enoch Wood & Sons of Burslem. Overall there is insufficient evidence to attribute all pieces to Woods.
Dimensions: Stand 27 cm diameter, 7 cm high / Stand 10.5 ins diameter, 3 ins high
